Man Arrested Near Grangeville on Various Drug Charges Early New Year

GRANGEVILLE, ID – A 21-year-old man was arrested on various drug charges early New Year’s Day. The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was on an Office of Highway Safety emphasis patrol when they stopped Gunnar Braaten on Johnston Cutoff Road outside of Grangeville at about 12:27 a.m.

“Further investigation indicated the driver was under the influence. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, paraphernalia and cocaine,” according to a press release.

Braaten was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and misdemeanor driving under the influence, as well as cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
