The Idaho Transportation Department has completed the rock scaling project on U.S. Highway 12 near Arrow Bridge east of Lewiston and the road remains open to travelers.
According to an ITD official, an earlier news release from the department stating the highway would be closed tomorrow (Fri), was distributed to media outlets by mistake.
The rock scaling project was conducted in November to stabilize rock above the roadway and decrease the likelihood of future rockfalls that create a safety hazard for drivers.
