Sunday, just after 11pm, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office got a call regarding suspicious activity in the Clearwater National Forest. It happened near Lightning Creek Road and Forest Service Road 1106, near Harpster, northeast of Grangeville.
A press release says Idaho County deputies found a pickup parked in the roadway with two people cutting up a tree. K9 Rip sniffed around and alerted on the pickup. 42-year-old James Blackeagle was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
The release says the arrest “addresses ongoing concerns about drug activity in remote areas of Idaho County, including our National Forest lands, which poses significant public safety risks to our community.”
