Idaho Department of Finance Partners with Idaho Scam Jam Alliance for Fall Events

The Idaho Department of Finance, in partnership with the Idaho Scam Jam Alliance, is excited to announce a series of in-person and virtual educational events to help Idahoans learn how to prevent, identify, and report financial fraud and scams.

Virtual Scam Jam Events take place on September 10th and 17th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. These virtual events will
offer expert speakers from the Idaho Department of Finance, AARP, Idaho Attorney General’s Office, Boise PD, Federal Trade Commission, and more who will speak on the sophisticated tactics con-artists are using while providing the tools and resources needed to identify and report scams.

topics and speakers.

Fight Fraud. Shred it! in Boise on October 14th From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., AARP Idaho, in partnership with the Idaho Scam Jam Alliance, will host a Shred Event at the north entrance of the State of Idaho Chinden Campus (11321 W Chinden Blvd) in Boise. This event is a great opportunity to dispose of sensitive financial documents and other materials that contain personal information to prevent identity theft and other scams.  Registration is not required but is encouraged. Fraud Prevention Summit/Scam Jam will take place on October 23rd from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Idaho Chinden Campus Conference Center.  AARP Idaho, in partnership with the Idaho Scam Jam Alliance, will offer an in-person Scam Jam open to the public featuring a lineup of expert speakers from the Idaho Department of Finance, the US Attorney District of Idaho, FBI, Idaho Attorney General’s Office, the Boise Police Department, AARP, Legal Aide, the Better Business Bureau, and more.  This event will be located on the State of Idaho Chinden Campus in Building 6 (11351 W Chinden Blvd). Registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.
