An LC Valley News follower sent us a text message she recently got. It seems to be coming from local credit union P1FCU. It’s not. It’s a scam.
There are several ways to know it’s suspicious. The text came from a 656 area code. That’s a Tampa, Florida phone number. Also the link goes nowhere near a legitimate P1FCU website, and there are punctuation errors that are unlikely to come from a legitimate business.
Law enforcement officials recommend you never click the links in a suspicious text, and you should report it to your mobile carrier through the “Report Junk” link at the bottom.
