The Idaho State Police is checking more trucks this week. They’re taking part in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance International Roadcheck. It’s a 72-hour high-visibility enforcement and education effort across North America. They’re stopping commercial motor vehicles at weigh stations, roadside locations, and mobile patrols to make sure everything is in order and the truck and driver are in federal compliance.
This year’s focus includes proper tires and driver logs. A release from ISP says they’re doing a level one inspection, which is a 37-step review of the driver’s credentials and the vehicle’s mechanical condition.
The ISP asks that if you see them out conducting inspections on the side of the road, slow down and move over.
