The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival kicks off Tuesday. The 58th annual event welcomes 22-hundred students and educators to Moscow. They’ll go through a variety of classes, but festival-goers can enjoy the public workshops from disco and poetry to anime and tap dancing.
Professor of music at the Lionel Hampton School of Music Vanessa Sielert says “The…festival is a one-of-a-kind educational jazz festival that gives students from elementary through college the opportunity to perform for professional musicians and receive feedback in an interactive clinic.”
