
Two Moscow Police Officers have been honored with a life saving award.
According to a news release from the Moscow Police Department, Officer Lanie and Officer Sneve have been honored for their swift and decisive actions in saving the life of a local resident.
On February 6, at about 1:00 PM, officers responded to a report of an unconscious man near the intersection of 6th and Logan Streets. Upon arrival, Officer Lanie immediately initiated chest compressions. Officer Sneve arrived shortly thereafter and prepared the patient for the application of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) by cutting away the patient’s shirt. Officer Sneve then assumed responsibility for providing ventilations using a bag valve mask.
Moscow Volunteer Fire and Ambulance paramedics arrived on scene and continued life-saving efforts, including the deployment of the AED. The patient regained a pulse and was stabilized for transport to a local hospital.
Paramedics subsequently confirmed that the officers’ rapid response and immediate intervention were instrumental in saving the man’s life.
