LEWISTON, ID – With more and more Pacific Northwest communities facing flooding, wildfires, heat waves, and drought, people’s health and local economies are being negatively impacted. To help, Philanthropy Northwest is inviting Tribal nations, nonprofits, local governments, and higher educational institutions in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington to apply for its Thriving Communities grants.
The grants, totaling $48 million, will help address local environmental issues and promote healthy communities by improving air and water quality, increasing access to healthy food, cleaning up the environment, providing job training, and more.
