14 apply for open Lewiston City Council seat

A total of 14 people have applied to fill the Lewiston City Council seat being vacated by former councilor Luke Blount.

The 14 applicants include former Lewiston Fire Chief Gordy Gregg; former councilman Kevin Kelly; Scott Trotter; Gabriel Iacoboni; Linda Glines; Travis Bingman; Charles Bolon; Darlene Lambert; John Spickelmire; Richard Hensley; Maureen Anderson; Matthew Gower; Roger Mantese; and Richard Eldridge.

The selection will be discussed at a city council meeting at 3 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor of the Bell Building located at 215 D Street.

The field will be narrowed to six based on recommendations of council members.

Blount’s successor will be appointed by Mayor Dan Johnson and confirmed by a simple majority of the city council. (Lewiston Tribune)
