The Avista Foundation has announced its second quarter grants, awarding $103,450 to 26 non-profit organizations in Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska.

Second quarter grants are focused on organizations that provide services supportive of youth development and educational programming.

Locally, the Twin County United Way was awarded $5,000; the LC Valley Youth Resource Center receives $3,000; the Asotin County Library Foundation will receive $1,750; and Palouse Pathways has been awarded $2,500.

Since its establishment in 2002, the Avista Foundation has made grants totaling over $12 million. The foundation focuses its giving in the areas of vulnerable and limited income populations, education, and economic and cultural vitality. It is a separate, non-profit organization established by Avista Corporation, and does not receive funding from Avista Utilities or it’s customers through rates.

In 2021, the Avista Foundation donated more than $1.9 million to organizations that help people in need.
