Get ready to ride for a great cause! The Elk River Fireworks Association is hosting two exciting ATV Fun Runs to support the annual Thunder in the Mountains Fourth of July fireworks show in Elk River.

Event Details

Each fun run takes riders through 40–60 miles of scenic and rugged terrain, making for a full day of adventure—rain or shine!

Registration opens: 9:00 AM (day of each event)
Cost: $10 per hand
Register online or in person

How the Fun Run Works

(We call it a “fun run”—not a poker run!)

When you register, you’ll receive a card (your “hand”) numbered 1–5
At each stop along the route, you’ll draw a numbered ball
The number drawn is recorded on your card
At the end of the run, the highest total score wins a cash prize!

Each stop features different numbers, so every run is unique and unpredictable.

What to Expect

A full day of riding across varied terrain
Possible mud, snow, or wet conditions, especially in May
A fun, social atmosphere with multiple stops along the way

What to Bring

Layered clothing & rain gear
Warm gear (boots, gloves) if temperatures are cool
Snacks and beverages for the day
Extra cash for donations and food

One of the highlights of the ride is a stop hosted by Melody Sandahl State Farm, where you’ll find:

Hot dogs available by donation
Games, giveaways, and fun swag
100% of proceeds supporting the fireworks show
