Street preservation work begins this month on Lewiston streets.

According to the city, annual street preservation consists of preventative maintenance including, but not limited to, removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement, pavement patching, overlay, seal coat, and slurry seal of city streets on a rotating basis.

The City of Lewiston has contracted with Poe Asphalt Paving to perform the Seal & Fog Coat project. Pavement patching is scheduled in May followed by seal & fog work in July. Hours of operation will generally be between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

The project schedule and map is posted on the City of Lewiston website at www.cityoflewiston.org/pwprojects and will be periodically updated as the work progresses.

Drivers can expect to encounter short term road closures while work is being performed. As with all construction, unforeseen conditions could alter schedules.
