Idaho Department of Lands’ Craig Mountain Forest Protective District, based in Craigmont, is hosting a meeting to help people living near the Lower Snake and Salmon River Canyons prepare for the upcoming wildfire season.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss fire prevention, explain how fire suppression is managed by IDL and the differences if a Complex Incident Management Team is called in to manage a fire.
Structure protection will also be discussed. In the spring of 2024, the Craig Mountain District conducted a structure assessment in the canyon, and the results of that assessment will be shared.
The meeting will be held this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Clarkston at the Wet Ever Boat Shop, located at 1030 16th Avenue.
For questions or additional information call the Craig Mountain District office at 208-924-5571.
