
Josh Smith had two hits and scored a run and Mackenzie Gore dominated on the mound as the Texas Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners with a 3-0 shutout win yesterday (Wed) in Arlington.
Gore got the win for the Rangers. The left-hander didn’t allow any runs on just one hit with 9 strikeouts over a 5 inning start.
The Mariners were held to just two hits total – singles by Mitch Garver and Cole Young.
Seattle starter Bryan Woo took the loss. The right-hander allowed 3 runs – only one of which was earned on 5 hits and 2 strikeouts over five innings.
The M’s return home for a four-game divisional series with Houston beginning tomorrow (Fri) night at T-Mobile Park.
