The city of Lewiston has announced plans for additional construction work on Snake River Avenue.
According to a news release, the city has been developing reconstruction and improvements to Snake River Avenue, between Southway Avenue and 11th Avenue.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 13th with hours of operation generally between 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Construction will occur in multiple phases with a priority to maintain two-way traffic, one lane in each direction, as much as possible.
Officials say construction phasing and traffic revisions will be fluid as the project progresses. Motorists can expect periodic flagging operations, lane closures, and night work.
Work will generally progress from the south end (near the Southway Ave roundabout) to the north end (just past 11th Ave), including work on 11th Ave. The project will include road widening for three-lanes comprised of a through-lane in each direction and a shared center turn-lane; along with the installation of a curb, gutter, and concrete sidewalk, ADA compliant pedestrian ramps, stormwater drainage infrastructure, and other enhancements. Two-way traffic will be maintained with one lane in each direction.
According to the release, the project will take several months to complete and is expected to wrap-up in October.
