Governor Little signed a bill that removes the Idaho Women’s Commission. Set into law in 1970, the purpose of the commission was to “stimulate women to increase their participation in…social, political, and economic progress of the local communities, the state, and the nation…and to engage in activities that encourage and stimulate the development of strong families.”
Senate Bill 1236 repeals that part of Idaho Code and makes it effective July 1st. It passed the House and Senate with minor opposition.
