| COHUTTA, Ga. – No. 19 LC State Women’s Golf improved one spot in the final round of the Roadrunner Spring Invitational on Tuesday to finish seventh overall in the stacked field. Sophomore Giulia Belfontali had the best round by a Warrior at the tournament to propel herself to a top-20 finish.
The Warrior women shot a 23-over, 311 on Tuesday to move ahead of No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 18 Rocky Mountain (Mont.), both ranked ahead of LC State heading into the tournament.
“Solid finish today for the women,” coach Zach Anderson said. “In a tournament with this many good teams, every shot means so much in the ranking points awarded. Proud of the fight they showed. Although it wasn’t perfect, this tournament was a success. Thankful for this group and excited to see where we go from here with postseason on the horizon.”
Belfontali fired off a round of 1-over, 73, to jump 20 spots to tie for 17th in the field of 89 golfers. She finished the week 17-over.
Sophomore Jane Barry moved up three spots in her final 18 holes after a round of 6-over to end her tournament. She placed 28th overall, and Isabella Barquet improved eight spots with a 5-over round to tie for 29th. Barry was 20-over and Barquet was 21-over.
Taylor Mire finished in the top 50 in a tie for 46th. She finished her three rounds at 28-over.
Senior Dallis Shockey rounded out the group in a tie for 59th. She carded an 11-over on Tuesday to finish 33-over through the three rounds.

LC State concludes the regular season at the Tournament of Knights, a Cascade Conference tournament hosted by Warner Pacific (Ore.), Apr. 13-14.
