Warrior Men’s Tennis Takes Down Whitworth in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – LC State Men’s Tennis, receiving votes in the NAIA poll, opened a long road trip with a contest at NCAA Division III Whitworth on Tuesday. The Warriors defeated the Pirates 6-1 ahead of a flight to Indiana on Wednesday.

 

LC State edged Whitworth to earn the doubles point to start the day. Pablo Herrera and Giacomo Moreira teamed up for a 6-3 victory in the top spot and Rafael Bonnet de Larbogne and Nell Rollin clinched the first point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

 

Gautam Balakrishnan made quick work of his opponent in the sixth singles match with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory. Herrera was not far behind with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.

 

Rollin rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win in the fifth singles match and Moreira also dropped only two games with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in No. 4 singles.

 

Bonnet de Larbogne earned the final singles win for LC State with a 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 victory in the second slot.

LC State opens the Indiana portion of the trip with a contest at Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday at noon PT.
