Kendrick, Prairie Advance, Orofino and Timberline Fall at State Tournaments

Ethan Meyer scored 16 points and the New Plymouth Pilgrims beat Orofino in the quarterfinal round of the Idaho State 3-A Boy’s Basketball Tournament at Meridian High School yesterday (Thur). The Maniacs drop into the consolation bracket and will meet Soda Springs today (Fri) at 1 p.m. with live radio coverage in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.

In the Idaho State 2-A Tournament in Caldwell, defending state champion Kendrick cruised to a 72-49 win over Grace. Maddox Kirkland led the Tigers with 22 points. Kendrick moves on and will face North Star Charter in the semi-final round today (Fri) at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. Meanwhile, Patrick Schlader posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and the Prairie boys got past Murtaugh 53-36. The Pirates advance and will take on Lakeside tonight (Fri) at 6 p.m.

In the 1-A Tournament in Caldwell, Korbin Christopherson had 11 points but the Timberline boys fell 43-35 to Carey. The Spartans will move into the consolation bracket where they’ll face Dietrich at 4 p.m. Pacific Time with live radio coverage in the upper Clearwater Valley on KLER-FM 103.3.
