LC State Women’s Basketball Holds Steady at No. 12 in NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – LC State Women’s Basketball held steady at No. 12 in the NAIA Top 25 with two weeks left in the regular season. The Warriors went 2-2 since the last poll but held their position among the top teams in the NAIA.

 

LC State fell to (RV) Southern Oregon and (RV) Oregon Tech on a tough road trip but bounced back with big wins over Walla Walla (Wash.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.). The Warriors set a program record with 40 assists against the Wolves and hit 18 3-pointers in the 111-44 victory.

 

The Warriors lead the CCC and are 13th in the NAIA in 3-point field goal percentage (34.6) and are second in scoring (77.8), field goal percentage (46.4) and steals per game (11.8). Darian Herring leads the conference in rebounding (9.0) and blocks (50) and is fourth in assists (85). Lindsey Wilson ranks at the top of the CCC and is 13th in the NAIA in field goal percentage (59.7), Payton Hymas is second in assists (106) and steals (66) and fourth in free throw percentage (84.5). Sitara Byrd is fourth in 3-point percentage (41.2).

 

Around the Cascade Conference, Eastern Oregon moved up one spot to No. 14. Corban (Ore.) fell from the top 25 to receiving votes, along with SOU, OIT and College of Idaho.

LC State plays its final road games of the regular season this weekend at Evergreen (Wash.) and Northwest (Wash.).
