Wallace and Hymas Sweep CCC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Warrior Women’s Basketball swept the Cascade Conference McDonald’s Player of the Week honors, presented by Urban Edge Network, after a weekend sweep of Walla Walla (Wash.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.). Kendall Wallace was voted the CCC Offensive Player of the Week and Payton Hymas was tabbed the CCC Defensive Player of the Week.

KENDALL WALLACE – WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Wallace had a standout weekend as the Warriors’ top scorer with 19.5 points per game. She shot 69.6% from the field and 63.6% from 3-point range with seven 3-pointers. The sophomore scored a career-high 26 points with six 3-pointers against Walla Walla and collected career-bests in assists (8) and steals (7). She added 13 points against WPU. Wallace created 22 points with her assists and steals.

This is the first weekly honor of Wallace’s career.

PAYTON HYMAS – WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hymas averaged five steals per game to help lead the No. 12 LC State defense last week. She averaged 13 points per game and three rebounds along with 15 assists. Her 10 steals and six rebounds led directly to 11 points and the Warrior defense held opponents to 48 points per game against WWU and WPU.

This is Hymas first weekly honor of the season and second of her career. This is the first time she has earned Defensive Player of the Week.
