
The Lewis-Clark State baseball team opened the 2026 season with a pair of wins over NCAA Division III Whitworth today (Sat) at Harris Field in Lewiston.
In the first game, Bryce Johnson had three hits, including a homerun and two doubles while driving in 5 runs in a 15-5 win that ended because of the 10-run rule in 7 innings. Izzy Madariaga added two hits, including his first homer of the year, and drove in two.
On the mound, Jackson Cloud got the win with 3 innings of relief – allowing one unearned run on just one hit.
In the second game, pitching dominated for both teams.
The Warriors rallied to score four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win 4-1.
Kooper Jones had two hits and a run-batted-in, while Bryce Johnson added a hit and an rbi for LC.
Jace Taylor picked up the win with 2 innings of shutout, no-hit relief.
The 21st ranked Warriors return home next Friday and Saturday when they host Texas A&M-Texarkana in a four-game series at Harris Field.
