Eastern Washington citizens are invited to attend a live telephone town hall meeting with their 9th District state Representatives Mary Dye and Joe Schmick, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The hour-long program functions much like a radio call-in talk show, allowing participants to ask questions and share concerns directly with their elected representatives. Lawmakers will provide an update on legislative activity as the 60-day session passes its halfway point, with adjournment scheduled for March 12th.
Pomeroy Republican Mary Dye said the event gives people an easy way to engage with state government without leaving home.
“Many important issues are still being debated in Olympia, and this is a great opportunity for people across our district to ask questions and share what matters most to them,” said Dye. “We want to hear directly from citizens about how legislative decisions are affecting their families, farms, businesses, and communities.”
Schmick, a Republican from Colfax, said public input remains critical as lawmakers continue work on major policy and budget decisions.
“We represent a large rural district, and it’s not always easy for people to travel to Olympia or attend meetings in person,” Schmick said.
“This telephone town hall allows residents to participate in their government from the comfort of their home and have a real conversation about the direction of our state.”
Citizens who wish to join can dial 509-257-6010 at the start of the event.
Dye and Schmick encourage constituents to join the discussion and share their perspectives as the Legislature continues its work in Olympia.
