CORVALLIS, Ore. – Fifteen LC State Basketball student-athletes earned Academic All-Cascade Conference honors, announced by the CCC on Tuesday. Five men’s basketball players and 10 women’s athletes met the criteria for the academic award.

To be eligible for Academic All-Cascade Conference, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have attended LC State for at least one year.

“I am proud of our Warrior student-athletes who champion excellence in the classroom while competing at a high level on the court,” athletic director Jim Klemann said. “The support of our faculty and staff that work tirelessly to develop and grow our students is invaluable and helps make LC State athletics great.”

All five eligible Warrior Men’s Basketball players brought home the award. Seniors John Lustig, Grayson Hunt and Peyton Nordland led the team, along with underclassmen Josh Salguero and Dylan Skaife.

On the women’s side, all five seniors added the award to their resumes. Camden Barger, Sitara Byrd, Payton Hymas, Ella Nelson and Lindsey Wilson led the team along with juniors Tatum Brager, Grace Beardin and Darian Herring. Sophomores Bella Firnkoess and Kendall Wallace earned Academic All-CCC honors for the first time in their careers.
