Voters in the Clarkston School District will soon receive ballots asking if they want to renew a four-year Education, Programs & Operations levy.
According to a news release, the ballot measure seeks renewal of the EP&O levy at the same rate of $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed value as approved by voters in 2022.
The ballot measure also specifies the maximum dollar amount the Clarkston School District can levy in each of the four years, which assures voters that if assessed property values rise, the levy rate will fall, as the school district cannot levy more funds than the maximum approved by voters.
The levy covers about 10% of the Clarkston School District’s annual budget and helps bridge the gaps in state funding.
Ballots must be returned by February 10th.
