The Weather Service has also issued Winter Storm Warning for the Northern and Southern Clearwater Mountains. Heavy snow is expected today through 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. Snow in the valleys will accumulate 2-6 inches. In the higher terrains like Lolo Pass, there will likely be 9 inches to a foot-and-a-half.
It will impact Highway 12 between Lowell and Lolo Pass, Highway 11 from Pierce to Headquarters, and the towns of Pierce, Dixie, Elk River, and Elk City.
