“Name A Snowplow” Contest Winners Announced

This is the second year the the Idaho Transportation Department has let kids choose the names of some of its snowplows. The results are in on which were chosen by ITD employees.

Locally: “Blizzard Basher” will adorn one of them. The name comes from JR Morrow’s classroom in Genesee. So will “Frosty” from Ms. Mayes class in Riggins.

Other notable names include “CtrlSaltDelete”, “SnowbiWanKenobi”, “Austin Plowers”, “Sleetwood Mac”, “Betty WhiteOut”, and “Fast & Flurryous”.

Names came from 6th-12th grade classrooms statewide. Once the names are installed on the plows, ITD will visit the winning schools to teach students about snowplows and safe winter driving.
