A Lewiston man died after being struck by a pickup truck last (Mon) night.
According to a Lewiston Police Department press release, at about 5:25 p.m. Lewiston Police and Lewiston Fire Department medics were dispatched to the area of the 800 block of 8th St for a vehicle vs pedestrian collision.
Upon arrival, responding units found 74-year-old Laurence Casiato had been struck by a 2020 Ford F150 pickup driven by 57-year-old Mathew Harrison of Lewiston.
Casiato was transported by ambulance to St Joseph Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation revealed that Casiato was crossing 8th St mid block, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by the pickup that was traveling south.
The 800 block of 8th St was closed until 8:00 p.m. for the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lewiston Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Team at 208-746-0171.
