LC Women Overcome Halftime Deficit to Beat Shawnee State

Sitara Byrd led five Lewis-Clark State players in double figures scoring with 15 points and the Warriors overcame a 9 point halftime deficit to beat Shawnee State, Ohio 71-70 in the opening game of the Bevo Francis Classic in Rio Grande, Ohio today (Fri).

Darian Herring put up a double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds and added 6 blocked shots for LC. Payton Hymas contributed 14 points and 9 assists, while Lindsey Wilson scored 13 and Clarkston native Kendall Wallace had 11 points in the win.

The 7th ranked Warriors improve to 5-0 on the year and will face the host team and 20th ranked Rio Grande tomorrow (Sat) at noon Pacific Time.
