A pickup driver took out a power pole, spun a Nez Perce County Fire truck around in the driveway, and ran partially through a garage on Burrell today (Thurs).
A neighbor across the street says just after noon, he heard a boom and ran outside to find a dust cloud and all the chaos. The driver was allegedly headed westbound approaching Centennial Elementary when he hit all the objects before coming to a stop in the corner of the garage.
The crash knocked out power for several hours to the neighborhood and Burrell was closed between 8th and 9th streets because of the downed power lines.
The driver was checked by medics, but wasn’t taken to the hospital. There’s no official word yet on what caused the driver to veer off the road.
