Woman Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Orofino

Idaho State Police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in Orofino last night.

According to a news release, just after 6 p.m., the 71-year-old unidentified driver of a gray Nissan Murano was traveling westbound on Michigan Ave in Orofino when the vehicle struck an unidentified 73-year-old Orofino woman as she was crossing the roadway.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. Troopers report the driver of the vehicle was fully cooperative with law enforcement and the crash remains under investigation.

The Idaho State Police want to remind the motoring public to always be vigilant of pedestrians as daylight hours are short and winter driving conditions are approaching.
