
Saturday morning the driver of a pickup was trapped inside when he brought down a power pole. A release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the accident at about 3:30am Saturday. It happened near Timberline Cafe near Weippe.
The release says the driver, 22-year-old Jayson Mcadow fell asleep while driving and crashed into a mailbox and power pole. Because of the downed power wires, he was trapped in his vehicle for almost 2 hours. He was evaluated by Weippe Ambulance medics and released. He was cited for inattentive or careless driving.
Highway 11 was closed for four hours while emergency and power crews worked to clear the incident.
