A Lewiston man is facing three counts of Grand Theft and four counts of Burglary following an extensive investigation into a series of burglaries occurring throughout Lewiston and Clarkston. On Monday, Lewiston Police Department detectives charged 42-year-old Christo Xiggenis in the case.
According to a news release, investigators have identified approximately 27 victims connected to the incidents. The investigation began in March 2025, when a vehicle burglary victim discovered their stolen property listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. An officer recognized the carpet in one of the online photos and was able to identify a local hotel where Xiggenis was staying. After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered a stolen financial transaction card from Xiggenis’s hotel room. He was subsequently placed on felony probation in connection with the offense.
Approximately five months later, officers located a stolen pair of binoculars at a local pawn shop that had recently been sold by Xiggenis. Two weeks later, he was arrested by Nez Perce County deputies on an unrelated felony charge. During that arrest, deputies discovered additional stolen property in the vehicle he was driving. In September, Lewiston detectives executed search warrants on Xiggenis’s storage units, where they recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including multiple cell phones, an iPad, vehicle GPS units, dash cameras, prescription medications, tools, and sunglasses.
DNA evidence also linked Xiggenis to two separate vehicle burglaries in which a vape device and flashlight were left behind inside the victims’ vehicles.
The Lewiston Police Department reminds residents to remain vigilant and to lock their vehicles at all times. The majority of vehicle burglaries investigated by officers involve vehicles that were left unlocked.
