In November voters in Asotin County will decide if they’re ok again raising funding for the Rural Library District. Voters previously approved 50-cents per thousand dollars of assessed property value, but a change in state law dropped it to 40.25-cents per thousand.
The Library District is now asking voters to re-approve the 9.75-cent-per-thousand increase on the November 4th ballot.
They’re holding a community forum tomorrow (Thurs) and another on Saturday to give interested community members more information. It starts tomorrow night at 7pm and Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
The meetings are at the Asotin County Library’s downtown branch at 5th and Sycamore streets in Clarkston.
