Asotin City firefighters rushed to the cemetery on the hill above town this morning just after 9am for a pickup on fire. When they arrived they found smoke coming from the engine compartment. They had the blaze extinguished quickly.
The owner of the pickup says he was there because it’s almost his mother’s birthday, so he was cleaning up her grave. While working, he turned around and found his old Ford on fire.
Asotin County firefighters were headed that way to help, but were called off once Asotin had it under control.
