Idaho Gasoline Prices Down Slightly

After some recent misfortune, Idaho drivers saw gas prices fall this week. According to the American Automobile Association, the average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.49 – three cents less than a week ago, a penny more than a month ago, and the same price as a year ago.

The national average currently sits at $3.13 per gallon, which is five cents less than a week ago, seven cents less than a month ago and eight cents less than last year. Once again, Idaho ranks 8th in the U.S. for the most expensive fuel.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and their partners is rumored to be considering another increase in crude oil output in November. If oil supplies increase – especially during the colder months in the Northern Hemisphere – AAA says the cost of crude could fall, taking gas prices along with it.

Of Idaho’s largest cities, Boise has the highest average price per gallon in the state at $3.56, while Idaho Falls has the state’s lowest average price at $3.31. Lewiston’s average price for a gallon of regular is currently $3.46.
