Idaho Gas Prices Holding Steady as Distribution Issues Resolved

The price of gasoline in Idaho is holding steady, although the northern and eastern parts of the state have seen various increases.

According to the American Automobile Association, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $3.52, a penny more than a week ago. But prices in Idaho Falls and Pocatello are up six cents per gallon this week, and three cents higher in Twin Falls and Coeur D’Alene. Pump prices in Franklin jumped eight cents.

Matthew Conde with AAA-Idaho says a big reason why prices have spiked lately is largely due to a distribution problem in the Pacific Northwest. However, now that petroleum products are moving again through the Olympic Pipeline from Washington State into Oregon, he has hope that supply chain stability and cooling temperatures will translate to savings at the pump in the coming weeks.

Of Idaho’s largest cities, Coeur d’Alene has the states highest price for a gallon of regular at $3.59, while Franklin has the state’s lowest average price at $3.36. Lewiston’s average price for a gallon of regular is $3.51.
