ITD corrects DMV computer issues, returns full service to counties

itd

The Idaho Transportation Department has corrected the issues in its driver’s license computer system and restored full service to county offices.

ITD, working with its card issuing vendor Gemalto, enhanced its servers and made adjustments to its databases to correct the process throttling seen in the last two weeks.  The fixes have corrected the problem and processing speeds are faster than before the issues arose.

Idahoans who delayed getting a license renewed during the outage are encouraged to visit their county DMV office for service.

The outages did not have any impact on the department’s planned launch of the Star Card – Idaho’s REAL ID.  The optional driver’s license or ID cards will be available to the public starting January 2nd.  (ITD)
