After a stellar weekend on the court, LC State Volleyball took home two Cascade Conference McDonald’s Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network. Teagan Scott became the first Warrior setter to be named conference Setter of the Week since 2018, and Karissa Lindner’s record-setting blocks earned her Defender of the Week.
Scott had a career weekend with career-high assists in both matches. She dished out 39 assists to help LC State defeat 19th ranked Southern Oregon, then was even better on Saturday with 47 assists. She helped at the net with six blocks over the weekend while notching a pair of double-doubles with 13 digs in each match.
It’s the first weekly honor of Scott’s career, and the first Setter of the Week honor for the Warriors since joining the Cascade Conference.
Lindner shattered the LC State single-match record with a staggering 15 blocks against Southern Oregon on Friday. The previous record was 11. The junior middle blocker had eight in the first two sets alone and continued to dominate against one of the top teams in the NAIA. She added four more against Oregon Tech on Saturday.
It’s the first weekly honor for Lindner in her career.
The LC Volleyball team travels to College Place, Washington for a Cascade Conference match tonight (Tue) at 6 p.m. with Walla Walla University.
