
The Lewiston High football team ushers in a new era tonight (Fri) when the Bengals open the 2025 season under first-year head coach Zane Hobart in Nampa against Columbia.
After leading the Kendrick football program to four consecutive Idaho state titles, the Lewiston native takes over a team that finished last season with a record of 5-5 after falling in the opening round of the Idaho State 5-A playoffs.
Tonight’s kick-off is set for 6 p.m. Pacific Time with live radio coverage in the LC Valley on The River 105.1 FM and streaming free online at bengalsports.com.
Several other local high school teams are also opening their seasons tonight and tomorrow.
Moscow is hosting Grangeville tonight (Fri); four-time defending state champion Kendrick squares-off against Butte County in a re-match of last seasons state championship game in Homedale tonight; Troy travels to Deary tonight; Genesee is home to play Lapwai; and Lewis County opens the season at home tomorrow (Sat) afternoon in Nezperce when the Eagles host Coeur d’Alene Christ Academy.
