Idaho County deputies were busy on Tuesday, as was K9 Millie.

First, at 1:30am, a 911 call came in to Idaho County Dispatch for a domestic battery incident. A release from the Sheriff’s Office says it was at the Cedar Grove rest area near Powell. Deputies arrested Jevon Calland for felony attempted strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery inflicting traumatic injury.

Then, just before 2pm, a deputy near Kooskia stopped a vehicle for traffic violation. A release says K9 Millie performed an “open-air” sniff and alerted on the vehicle. 29-year-old Sophia Webber was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor open container of alcohol by driver.

At about 9:15 that same night, a deputy contacted a driver in a pullout on Highway 12, about 3 miles west of Syringa. Millie did another open-air sniff and 46-year-old Jeremy Umphenour was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor under the influence in public, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of a legend drug without a prescription.
