
After conducting a month of listening sessions with campus and community members followed by a national search, Lewis-Clark State College has invited three candidates to campus next week to interview for the position of athletic director.
The public is invited to attend events and provide feedback about the candidates. Each visit will include a presentation at 4 p.m. followed by a meet and greet social with light hors d’oeuvres from 5-6 p.m. at the Williams Conference Center. Both events are open to the public. Jim Klemann, current athletic director at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana will visit campus next Tuesday (Aug. 26). Current Lewis-Clark State interim co-athletic director Ray Pedrina is scheduled for next Thursday (Aug. 28). And Shay Wyatt, former athletic director at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, Utah will be in Lewiston next Friday (Aug. 29).

Jim Klemann
Klemann has been athletic director at Rocky Mountain since 2021. Prior to that he served at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota from 2007-2021 in a variety of roles including assistant athletic director, director of annual giving, director of transfer admissions, and assistant baseball coach/athletic game manager. He received a bachelor’s in health and fitness administration with minors in coaching and business from Jamestown.

Ray Pedrina
Pedrina has served as interim co-athletic director at LC State since June of 2025, after being hired as the assistant athletic director of marketing and promotions in January. Prior to that he was recreation supervisor and recreation coordinator for City of Lewiston Parks and Recreation, and athletic director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis-Clark Valley. He received a bachelor’s in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science and a minor in business administration from LC State after completing an outstanding career with the LC baseball team.
Wyatt served as athletic director at Westminster from 2006-2025. Prior to that he was the director of sports marketing at Salt Lake City Community College, the Wildcat Club executive director at Weber State University, and the director of development for athletics at Utah Valley University. He received a bachelor’s in health, physical education and recreation from Bethel College and a master’s in sports administration from Wichita State University.
