The Idaho State Police (ISP) has created a dedicated webpage to provide access to records related to the 2022 Moscow homicide investigation. These records are available by going through www.isp.idaho.gov/Moscow to our JustFOIA public portal archives.
The murders of University of Idaho students Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin prompted a months-long investigation involving local, state, and federal partners. On December 30, 2022, Bryan Kohberger was arrested and later charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary. Following his guilty plea, the case was fully adjudicated on July 23, 2025. Kohberger was sentenced to four consecutive fixed life terms without the possibility of parole, plus a fixed 10-year term for burglary.
The investigation generated a substantial number of records. Police reports produced by ISP are now publicly available through the webpage listed above. As additional records are reviewed and approved for release, they will be added to the same online folder.
Investigative materials created by other agencies — including the Moscow Police Department, Latah County Sheriff’s Office, Latah County Prosecutor’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pullman Police Department, University of Idaho, and Washington State University — are maintained by those agencies. Requests for their records should be directed to the respective custodian agency.
