Crews contained a wildfire that burned about 95 acres in the Snake River canyon about 10 miles south of Asotin yesterday (Thur).
Firefighters from the Blue Mountain Fire District were assisted by the Asotin County Fire District, the U.S. Forest Service, the city of Asotin, the Washington Department of Natural Resources, along with two helicopters and two single-engine air tankers. The fire was stopped before it could advance to agriculture fields on top of Weisenfels Ridge.
A mower is believed to have been responsible for causing the blaze.
There were no structures lost and no injuries were reported.
