A man who allegedly stole a vehicle tried to hide from deputies in a campground. On Tuesday an Idaho County deputy was helping US Forest Service and Fish and Game officers on a camp check. It was off Forest Service Road 103 along Lolo Creek in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest.
A release from the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office says officers were talking to a woman who said she was the only occupant of the campground. The deputy saw a man hiding underneath a parked vehicle. He was ordered out and detained. The deputy arrested 43-year-old Cody Horton on a felony warrant for grand theft. It was for a stolen vehicle case in early June.
