
Yesterday’s 1,000-acre fire west of Clarkston left some county residents scratching their heads. The State Fire Marshal’s Office released their State Mobilization information when it became official that they would send help. In the public release, it mentioned Evacuation Levels 1 and 2 were in effect. That information was wrong. Asotin County Emergency Management Director Nick Bacon says if an evacuation is necessary, you can be sure a local text will be coming.
“Any time an evacuation is ordered, there would be an official notification coming from Emergency Management and/or the Sheriff’s Office.”
