Effective immediately, there are no fireworks allowed to be discharged on tribal land. The Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee authorized the ban in response to extremely dry and hazardous conditions.
In a release the committee says “The health and safety of community members, homelands, and natural resources are of utmost importance. As fire risk remains critically high, tribal law enforcement officers will be strictly enforcing this ban.”
