LEWISTON, Idaho – Coach Austin Johnson announced the transfer class for Lewis-Clark State Men’s Basketball ahead of the 2025-26 season. The group includes student-athletes from all over the region that bring a depth of skills and experiences to the Warrior program.

Andrew Mata – Los Angeles, Calif./Cerritos College

Mata, a 6-5 junior, played one season at Cerritos College where he helped the Falcons to a conference title. He was voted all-conference with nine points per game. Mata prepped at Schurr High School and was named league MVP. He helped the Spartans to a pair of league championships.

“Andrew was our first transfer commitment this spring,” Johnson said. “He has proven to be a big-time shooter and has hit shots in big moments. Coach May at Cerritos did a great job putting him in situations to be successful. Drew gained great experience playing on a playoff team and has a good understanding of the different roles teams need to win at a high level.”

Dallon Morgan – Salem, Ore./Eastern Arizona College

Morgan is a 6-8 sophomore that helped Eastern Arizona College to a historic run that included conference and regional titles. He was voted second-team all-region for his efforts. Morgan prepped at Sprague High School in Oregon where he averaged 22.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He was named the All-Mid Valley Player of the Year in 2022 and helped the team to playoff appearances all four years. He ranks second all-time in points scored and rebounds at Sprague and is seventh all-time in assists.

“Dallon is someone we have been familiar with for a very long time,” Johnson explained. “His ability to rebound, pass and shoot the ball makes him a tough player to defend and will allow us to be a bit creative in some of the actions we run. Dallon helped Coach Cameron Turner and the EAC Gila Monsters to the first conference/region championship season since 1995. He is a versatile, high IQ forward whose best basketball is still ahead of him.”

Jamare’ Childs – Seattle, Wash./Eastern Arizona College

Childs, a 6-1 junior from Seattle, joins Morgan out of EAC where he helped the Gila Monsters to a pair of conference and regional championships. He averaged five points, three assists and two rebounds per game. He prepped at Kennedy Catholic High School in the North Puget Sound League where he averaged 14 points, four assists and four rebounds per game. Childs was named all-league three times.

“Jamare’ brings great intangibles to our program. We expect his energy and competitiveness to make us a better team day in and day out,” Johnson said. “He played in some big, crunch time moments for Coach Turner at EAC and we hope that experience pays off during his time at LC. Jamare’ gives us physicality at the point guard position and the potential to defend multiple positions along with an incredible track record with his assist to turnover ratio.”

Elijah Kersey – Brigham City, Utah/Colorado Northwest CC

A 6-1 sophomore, Kersey joins the Warriors out of Colorado Northwest CC. He played one season for the Spartans after a stellar career at Box Elder High School. Kersey is the school record holder in steals (150) and ranks third in points scored (1,054) and assists (212). He grabbed 277 rebounds in his career. Kersey was voted first-team all-region three times and was named the 5A Region 5 MVP. He was named All-State in 2024.

“Elijah is another physical guard we are excited to see develop. He helped Coach Cruikshank and CNCC to the best record in school history,” Johnson explained. “As a true freshman he played in one of the best Juco leagues in the country and really grew from that experience. He makes good reads out of ball screens and has shown himself to be a capable, physical downhill driver. We are hopeful he will continue to grow on the all-around potential he has shown thus far.”

Brandon Suber – Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Citrus College

Suber is a 6-2 junior from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., played two seasons at Citrus College and helped the Owls to a pair of conference titles. He averaged 7.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Prior to college, Suber competed at Los Osos High School where he averaged 10 points per game and was voted Second-Team All-Baseline League.

“Brandon brings a great winning pedigree and a high level of versatility,” Johnson said. “He was an invaluable Swiss-Army knife for Coach Lauer at Citrus College. Brandon values winning as much as any player we have recruited which is evidenced by the different role that he took from freshman to sophomore year which helped lead Citrus to a deep playoff run. I am confident that Brandon will continue that standard and winning mindset during his time at LC.”

Trevor Manning – Eastvale, Calif./Santiago Canyon College

Manning, a 6-4 junior, joins LC State out of Santiago Canyon College in Southern California. He played two seasons for the Hawks and helped SCC to the 2025 Orange Empire Conference title. Manning averaged 12.4 points per game and was twice named Second-Team All-OEC. He prepped at Eleanor Roosevelt High School where he averaged 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Mustangs. He shot 48% from the floor and was named All-Big VIII twice.

“Trevor is a versatile wing that came on our radar late,” Johnson said. “He helped Coach Dixon and SCC to 46 wins and two State playoff appearances. Trevor checks a lot of boxes for us. His ability to defend is really valuable; he’s shown he can sit down and defend different positions at a high level. Offensively he can space the floor with his shooting, and he adds some pop with his athleticism. He has a very high ceiling, and we will do our best here at LC to help him reach it.”
