A ribbon cutting event for the new section of U.S. Highway 95 from Thorn Creek to Moscow that had been scheduled for today (Mon) near Moscow has been canceled.
According to a news release from the Idaho Transportation Department, in light of the fatal shooting of two north Idaho firefighters near Hayden yesterday, officials have postponed the planned event.
There has been no word on when another ribbon-cutting event may be scheduled.
The Highway 95 project dates back to 1999, and construction began in 2022 to realign the curving, two-lane highway to the east and expand it to four lanes.
